Thanksgiving invites us to pause, reflect, and celebrate the spirit of togetherness. It reminds us that gratitude becomes more meaningful when it extends beyond our homes and into the community around us. At MaitreePDX, this belief is at the heart of who we are — not just during the holidays, but all year round.

This season, our community once again came together not only to share a meal, but to share kindness

Spreading Warmth, One Sandwich at a Time

In the days leading up to Thanksgiving, MaitreePDX volunteers prepared and delivered fresh sandwiches to Blanchet House, supporting their mission to serve those experiencing homelessness with compassion and dignity. What started as a simple idea has now grown into a cherished tradition — one that nourishes both the body and the spirit.

Watching our volunteers pack, wrap, and deliver food with smiles and laughter was a beautiful reminder that service connects us in ways nothing else can.

Nourishing Hope at Sonrise Church

We also continued our ongoing food support with Sonrise Church, as highlighted previously, providing warm meals to members of the community who need it most. A hot plate on a cold day, a friendly conversation, a moment of being seen — small acts like these ripple outward in ways we may never fully measure.

Gratitude, we believe, is not just felt — it’s lived.

Community, Connection & the Heart of Thanksgiving

MaitreePDX has always stood for cultural connection, compassion, and giving back. This Thanksgiving, we saw those values come alive once again — through meal prep, shelter support, donation drives, and the collective efforts of a community that believes in showing up for one another.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to every donor who made these initiatives possible.
Your generosity fuels our mission and strengthens our impact.

We are deeply grateful for each donor, volunteer, partner, and well-wisher who walks this journey with us. You are the heart behind our work.
